Richard Brackner is an Alabama native who sees our state’s potential to be first in more than name only. In many ways, the possibilities of Alabama begin with Baldwin County and the crown jewel of Alabama, the Gulf Coast. He understands that the pristine beaches and parks are the lifeblood to our community and a showcase to the world
Originally from Oxford, Alabama, Richard comes from a working-class family and was taught the value of hard work at a young age. He also understands the value of a good education. Graduating in the top ten of his high school class opened many doors for Richard, including the opportunity to attend the University of Alabama, where he majored in advertising.
Richard worked his way through college in the service and hospitality industry, which would later prove to be an invaluable training ground for his work on the Gulf Coast. After graduating from Alabama, he traveled and worked abroad for several years, gaining valuable business experience and insight into the inner workings of community development. Today, Richard calls Gulf Shores home and appreciates the small town feel that Baldwin County represents.
Richard is helping to shape the future of the Alabama Democratic Party through his dual roles as a voting member of the Hispanic Caucus and as the male representative for the 1st Congressional District on the State Democratic Executive Board.
Richard is passionate about education, people’s rights, and the environment. Throughout his education and work experience, Richard has always shown a strong desire to serve others. He believes that public service is a noble profession and looks forward to bringing his energy and ideas to the people of this area.
