This is a quick video I made for all the people asking me how to export MIDI tempo maps from Ableton Live. Even today in 2024 and on Live 12 you have to export each MIDI clip individually and you can't export tempo maps... So I came up with this workaround to do it pretty quickly funny enough using two extra DAW's Bitwig Studio and Logic Pro X. In Bitwig you can actually open Ableton sessions and it allows for exporting of every MIDI clip in your project in one click!
Assuming you bounce your whole stereo mix with a metronome in the audio file, you can then import the file into Logic, use Apply Region Tempo to Project, and then you should have a tempo map that's pretty good to go. From there, import the MIDI exported from Bitwig and then you can re export the MIDI in one click in Logic with all the tempo info in it. I know, HUGE PAIN still, but it's definitely the best way I've found to do this to date. Do let me know if you have a better workaround though as I'd love to hear and hope this video is useful!
