Official Description & Notes

Subtitles are available in french, german and englisch by clicking on the "captions" button.

Charles De Gaulle, french president between 1958 and 1969 and former leader of the french resistance after the surrender in 1940, gives a speech in Bonn in presence of Konrad Adenauer, first Chancellor of West Germany.
In german, he tells about the admiration and trust he feels for the "great german people" (which, I think, was quite a statement coming from him).

A few month later, the two statesmen signed in Paris the Élysée Treaty, sometimes referred to as the Treaty of Friendship.
