My stay didn’t start very well, but I also think it’s fair to recognize when a hotel genuinely tries to improve after receiving feedback.

The Front Office Manager personally came to speak with me after I shared my concerns. He listened carefully, apologized sincerely and told me to contact him directly if I needed anything during the rest of my stay. Later that day, the team prepared some snacks in my room and also offered me a late check-out, which I really appreciated. It showed that they were willing to recover the experience instead of simply saying sorry.

One thing I really liked was the hotel’s design. The property is inspired by the story of Princess Từ Hoa, who is closely associated with the history of silk weaving around West Lake. You can actually see that inspiration throughout the hotel with the Vietnamese artwork, patterns and materials mixed with modern interiors. It feels elegant without being overly traditional, and I think they did a great job creating a luxury hotel that still has a local identity.

The location was another highlight for me. If your trip involves places outside central Hanoi, this location is much more convenient than staying in the Old Quarter. It’s close to West Lake, Lotte Mall West Lake, and getting out of the city during rush hour is noticeably easier.

The room itself was very comfortable. The bed was soft, there were plenty of pillows to choose from, the rain shower had excellent water pressure, and the Wi-Fi was surprisingly fast throughout my stay. I also liked that the Smart TV supports Netflix and YouTube, so you can simply sign in with your own account and relax after work.

The only thing I didn’t really enjoy about my room was the view. Instead of the lake or city, my room looked towards an abandoned building, which wasn’t exactly the most pleasant thing to wake up to every morning.

Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to try the hotel’s onsen, so I can’t comment on that facility.

Breakfast was decent overall, although I was expecting a little more. My biggest disappointment was actually the coffee. Hanoi is famous for its coffee culture, so I expected something with a richer aroma and a stronger body. The coffee served at breakfast tasted quite light, lacked the fragrance I was hoping for, and didn’t really leave much of an impression.

The biggest issue during my stay was still the air conditioning. Everything else in the room was genuinely enjoyable, but the room never became as cool as I expected. The engineering team explained that the hotel uses a central air-conditioning system and did their best to adjust it, but it remained the only part of my stay that wasn’t fully resolved.

Overall, I left with a much better impression than I had on the first day. The hotel has a beautiful design, comfortable rooms, a convenient location and, more importantly, a management team that was willing to listen and take guest feedback seriously. I hope they continue improving because this property has a lot of potential to become one of the better luxury hotels in Hanoi. The only thing I truly hope they can improve is the cooling performance of the air conditioning, because with that fixed, the overall experience would be significantly better.
