“Aline”, the new film by Valérie Lemercier, is expected in theaters on November 18th and has just unveiled its poster. In this fiction, freely inspired by Celine Dion’s real life, the resemblance between the singer and actress is quite unsettling.

Directed by Valérie Lemercier, “Aline” repeats the life of Quebec’s star Celine Dion between the ages of 5 and 55 through her avatar Aline Dieu. Many appearances are expected in this film, including that of Michel Drucker, who introduced the singer to the French public in 1983.

The script of this film leaves little doubt as to the homage to the singer. Quebec, in the late 1

960s, Sylvette and Anglomard welcome their 14th child: Aline. In the Dieu family music comes first and when Aline grows up we discover a gift for her, she has a golden voice. When he hears this voice, the music producer Guy-Claude has only one idea: to make Aline the greatest singer in the world.
The actress and director Valérie Lemercier had stated on the website of Le Parisien that she admired the Quebec singer. “I am fascinated by her voice, but also by her fate, the fact that she is the last of 14 children, her relationship with her mother, her love affair with René.”
